I recently met one of the architects from James Colizza Architects Inc who are currently finishing a really neat modern project in Hintonburg consisting of four singles homes and a semi-detached building. I believe most, if not all, are already sold too. I added some pictures from the architects with some street view images for comparison. What an improvement! The ugly brown fence and poorly maintained sheds are gone and the lot will now house six families as opposed to one car. I'll have to go check it out myself at some point, in the mean time enjoys these photos!

I like the shapes of these, but the siding they chose is absolutely hideous and turns what could have been a really interesting, modern standout into a cheap looking development.

ReplyDeleteLuckily for the architects these are being erected in an area where "tarpaper shack" was the architectural norm. In my humble opinion, ANYTHING would have been an improvement over what was there. I believe this style of "home" will age very poorly and not necessarily something to write home about.
