EQ3 replaced it, saying that our fabric choice had turned out to be a faulty fabric they no longer carried. We got our replacement sofa, and in a year it looked even worse than the first one. Again we were told that they have discontinued using that fabric and will pay for a replacement, but we need to pay if we want better fabric. Ridiculous. It's one (covered surface) ...Just to be clear. It's one (covered surface) parking space off the rear laneway for all units but (1). We feel this area is a prime example (why we decided to build here) of a "real" walkable neighbourhood but alos allowed for a covered parking space as the car is a fact of reality. People purchasing these lofts would enjoy the fact that they are located within;

-1.8min to the market on the future Light Rail (major station metres away)
-2km of pubs, a outdoor market, groceries, coffee shops, theatres, bars, flower shops and all that is urban
-Less then 100m from a major park, skating rink, bike/running paths and sport fields.

This being said we didn't feel an underground garage to allow for three parking spots per unit was intelligent on any level and or felt that or target market would require them. Also note this area has a very high bedrock level so blasting into rock to create more parking is not feasible.(loft sale prices would go beyond affordable). Street parking is more then adequate and so are street parking passes.
Melissahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11081662923706408791noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8962863406107779552.post-72941992607210790662012-12-13T14:14:51.024-05:002012-12-13T14:14:51.024-05:00Wow. So the design of the new homes is not that much different than what's already there.

First, Canvas faces a large 3-story semi detached home (about the same size too) which also have what looks like two wide garage doors facing the street.

Second, the second floor of the new building might be closer to the curb, but it looks like the main floor is at the same distance to the sidewalk as all the houses on that side. They all have space for their cars too.

I don't get this fixation with the "evil cars". They are part of modern living in modern societies, especially in residential areas like this one. Also, this is not an urban area. There's nothing but houses around. Most people living there need a car to run their errands, which is probably why most neighbors have cars in their lots. Pretending that we don't need space for them is preposterous.
